Welcome to the GDSC-Muni University 2022-2023! 

Hi there!

We hope to bridge the gap between theory and practice by holding informative talks and hands on workshops, teaching skills such as Android Development, Web Development, Google Cloud and more, in both beginner and advance levels. So, beginners are welcome. We will also be going to focus on non-technical skills and topics such as startups, internships and entrepreneurship(with StartHub Africa as our partner). In addition, we plan to focus on the role of women in tech and empowering women( So Ladies of Muni University, Here is an opportunity for you to get into tech).

Muni University is the 6th government established University in Uganda. It is tech-based with much support of technology based activities. Developer Student Clubs one of the sounding Clubs in the University since 2017 has done much to contribute to the University's core values. Muni University campus is located in Arua District, 3Km South of Arua town in North-Western Uganda (West Nile Region).

MISSION: To provide quality education, generate knowledge, promote innovations and community empowerment for transformation.

Google Developer Student Club-Muni University

Google Developer Student Club  is  university based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies. Students from all undergraduate or graduate programs with an interest in growing as a developer are welcome. By joining a GDSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community.

Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) is a program to support student programming teams initiated by Google - is a playground for students who love software engineering to learn and develop together. 

GDSC is a program supported by Google Developers!  Our mission is to train students to improve their skillset and become better developers.  

In GDSC Muni University, we believe that Technology can do extra-ordinary things in developing our community thus transforming our Lives.

Google Developer Student Club-Muni University is a community of tech-like-minded people in Muni University who experience what real world collaborative software development is and allows everyone to pursue big, useful and exciting projects which are not possible alone. Also, we have a community(Idea impact Hub) in which we discuss new ideas regarding development and learn a lot while having fun.

Whether you are a new budding developer, or a coding expert, or know nothing about coding, GDSC Muni University will provide a medium to build, connect, and employ individuals, in events Google has to offer, and the events we will be hosting.

We will be hosting talks, workshops, google career sessions, and collaborations with other societies and companies. Keep your eye out on this page!

Later in the academic year, there is also a larger worldwide competition hosted by Google called the Annual solution challenge, to tackle 17 of the sustainable development goals to transform the future. More details for this will be coming soon.

NOTE:

This platform will act as the central hub for information regarding upcoming events and talks!

All students offering different course/programs at Muni University and well wishers are free to join us and learn, GDSC is not for only computer related courses but for all students at Campus.
