About this event

How can technology help us build a better world? The Solution Challenge is Google's global annual contest that invites all Google Developer Student Club members (including you!) to develop solutions to real-world problems utilizing Google technologies. This year’s Solution Challenge asks participants to solve for one or more of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Awards: Top 50 Global Finalists and top winners receive mentorship from Google, cash prizes, swag, besides a great project (and story) to their portfolios.
  • Timeline: Solution Challenge teams (up to four people) can register and submit a project between January 11 - March 31, 2022. In this timeframe, you can work on your project at your own pace.

In this Solution Challenge event, you'll get helpful insights from a panel discussion with two Solution Challenge mentors Leona and Miri, who will give you advice along the journey from how to brainstorm and find an idea to prototype and finalize your idea! After that, you will hear from our top 10 finalist team last year SimplAR from TUM to see a real example of how those tips are successfully applied! Of course, you'll have the chance to ask your questions in between!

At last, we have prepared something personalized for you!

  • Networking: If you just heard about this event and consider participating, there will be a great chance for you to network with other students and form a team to get started! If you want us to help you find a team or team members, please fill out this form! Please also feel free to join our Slack in the team-finding channel to connect with other students.
  • Individual Consulting: If you've already formed a team and have some ideas in mind, but are still have some doubts. Our speakers will offer individual consulting sessions (about 20 min each) in a breakout room and help you with any questions you might have! Note that the slots are limited and will be first-come-first-served. If you want to take this great opportunity to get first-time feedback, please fill out this request form

This event is mainly organized by GDSC Munich and in collaboration with other GDSCs across Europe, so you will also have the chance to meet motivated students from other universities!
