Western University Google Developer Student (GDSC) Club Executive Team Positions

** Time Commitments will vary depending on if and which type of event are hosted**

FAQ:

Q: What is the Google Developer Student Club?

A: The Google Developer Student Club is an organization whose goal is to bring together individuals who want to use technology to create a positive impact in their respective communities. For those who have more experience, we hope the GDSC can be a place where individuals can share their experience in various technological fields or connect with other individuals to form a team for their next hackathon. For others, with less or even NO experience, we hope GDSC can be the place where they begin their journey to learning a new skill - may it be training machine learning models using Google BigQuery or building their first mobile app with Flutter. We hope to grow this community over the year by holding mobile app development workshops, panels with former Google interns and current engineers, and many other events.

Q: Do I have to be a computer science/engineering major to apply to one of the above positions?

A: Absolutely not! The Google Developer Student Club welcomes individuals from all majors. If you have an interest in technology or believe in the technology’s impact to make a positive impact in the community around us and have relevant experience that aligns with a specific role, you are more than welcome to apply!

Q: What is the benefit of holding an executive position through the Google Developer Student Club?

- Your application to internships and other jobs will stand out from other applicants.

- Depending on your role, this may be an opportunity for you to hone your skills - may it be UI/UX design through the graphic designer role, communication skills through the event coordinator role, or more technical skills through the technical lead role

- All dedicated execs will have access to additional learning ressources (from Google and other sponsors) and will receive access to mentorship from the GDSC Lead, Google Program Manager and GDSC Alumni
