Gemini Pro is a multimodal large language model developed by Google DeepMind. The open source api of Gemini provides capabilities similar to chat GPT. It can be used for text generation, visual classification, summarization, etc. The prerequisite for using the programming interface to the model is Python.

Joe Slamie will be presenting on how to get started with Gemini Pro. Installing the open-source model locally and configuring the api key.

This will be an informative session, especially for computer science majors who will eventually do a senior project.
