About this event

The Solutions Challenge is an annual competition organized by Google Developer Student Clubs, where students are invited to solve real-world problems using Google's technology. The challenge typically involves identifying a problem in their local community, creating a project proposal, and developing a solution using Google's technology stack.

The Solutions Challenge GDSC is an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience in problem-solving, project management, and teamwork, all while leveraging Google's tools and resources. The competition provides students with an opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity, connect with other students and industry professionals, and win prizes and recognition for their innovative solutions.

The students interested could fill the registration forms which open on 17th march and close on 31st march.

The solutions challenge is different from the usual hackathons conducted.

Focus on real-world problems: Unlike other hackathons that are generally focused on creating any innovative solution, the Solutions Challenge is focused on solving real-world problems. Students are encouraged to identify problems in their local community and develop solutions that can have a positive impact on society.

Use of Google Technologies: The Solutions Challenge requires the use of Google technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Firebase, Android, and Google APIs. This means that participants need to have knowledge of these technologies to create their solutions.

Longer duration: The Solutions Challenge is usually longer than traditional hackathons, which typically last for a day or two. The Solutions Challenge lasts for several weeks, allowing participants to work on their solutions at their own pace and giving them more time to refine their ideas.

Judging Criteria: The Solutions Challenge judging criteria is focused on the impact of the solution and the creativity of the idea. Judges are looking for solutions that can make a positive impact on society, are scalable, and can be implemented in the real world.

The Solutions Challenge organized by Google Developer Student Clubs is open to all university students who are at least 18 years old and are currently enrolled in an accredited university or college program.
