Knockouts is a 1v1 online coding contest where competitors put their competitive problem solving skills to test against one another. The coders are paired up randomly against each other with the winner being able to progress to the next stage where they will be paired randomly against another winner - all the way until the grand final. With support for 46 languages, questions were randomly allocated from a pool of centralized question database, ranging from medium, hard and very hard level of difficulties with every match in every round distributing a different question to the coders. The criteria on which the participants were judged upon was to get the maximum score in order to beat the opponents. Score will be reflected on the basis of the number of test cases passed, the complexity and memory usage for solving the problem and the total time they took to complete the question.
