This seminar, held at CME on October 6th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, will take a deep dive into Japan's cyber security and CTI.
Ben Ellis, a cyber security consultant at Nihon Cyber Defence (NCD), was previously based at NCD's global headquarters in Tokyo. Ben assisted NCD's global operations in his specialised field of cyber threat intelligence (CTI). With a keen interest in Japan's cyber security scene, Ben has presented various talks to educate people about cyber security and the challenges that it faces.
Talk 1: Tokyo Takedown: How can 10 seconds change the world?
Extract: Ben Ellis takes you on an international tour to Tokyo, the land of electronics, where culture and technology collide. However, what do you do when culture overtakes the technological revolution? You expose a weakness. In that weakness, cybercriminals come out to play. Follow a Sarariman through their daily routine whilst Ben takes apart their world, component by component, using real-world incidents to highlight the weaknesses caused by the over-reliance on old traditions and the Bushido code. Tokyo and Japan are slowly waking up to the new dawn of cybercrime and the need to secure Nihon.
Talk 2: A glimpse into the cyber threat landscape: an introduction to Cyber Threat Intelligence
Extract: With the growing use of technology around the world, more and more organisations are stepping into the cyber landscape in the hopes of reaping the benefits. But these benefits come with their own set of risks. Organizations are now coming face-to-face with the increasingly persistent and complex array of cyber threats. So how do organisations across the public and private sectors keep up with the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape? Come and join Ben as he introduces us to the emerging field of cyber threat intelligence (CTI) and the cyber threats that roam the cyber landscape.
Food and drinks will be provided.
