About this event

Come learn the fundamentals of Machine Learning in our Intro to Neural Networks Workshop!

In this quick 1 hour workshop, you'll learn about what Neural Networks are, why they are important, and how you can apply it in future projects. All majors and years at the University of Toronto are invited to be a part and no prior developer experience is required!

What will be covered:

  • Fundamentals of Deep Learning
  • What is a Neural Network?
  • Real world applications of Neural Networks
  • Neural Network terminology
  • General overview of code used for Neural Networks

Why learn about Neural Networks?

  • Currently provides the best solutions to many problems in image recognition, natural language processing (NLP) and speech recognition
  • Allow you to recognize hidden patterns and correlations in raw data, cluster and classify it
  • They can learn and model relationships not linear and continuously improve over time

  • No prior developer experience is required
  • Chrome installed w/ Internet connection
  • Basic programming language experience could help, but not required.

Note: During this workshop you'll be required to open multiple tabs to follow along. We recommend using a desktop or laptop while tuning in to get the most out of of this experience!
