Diliman Solutions Challenge 2021

The Diliman Solutions Challenge is a month-long event that aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by addressing one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the use of Google technology. Participants will go through mentorship, project planning, and technical training to guide them in building solutions for their preferred SDGs.

About this event

The Diliman Solutions Challenge is the flagship event of Developer Students Club UP Diliman. Through a series of talks, an ideathon, networking sessions, and technical workshops, the organization hopes to inspire youth to have their impact on society. This series of events seeks to encourage and empower students from UP Diliman to build solutions for local community problems. Using Google technologies, they will aim to solve at least one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This event is open to ALL high school and university students!

MENTORSHIP SERIES [INSPIRE]: March 1 - 4, 2021

This is a week-long series of public webinars from professionals all over the world. These webinars aim to cover the topics to be dealt with during the Diliman Solutions Challenge, specifically tackling the UN Sustainable Development Goals with technology, while guiding the participants in building their careers in the tech industry.  


IDEATHON [IDEATE]: March 5 - 6, 2021

A 48-hour hour intensive brainstorming event where students can showcase their creativity, ingenuity, and critical thinking by addressing and solving local challenges in-line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the event, Mentorship Roundtables will be held where participants can book one-on-one consultations from experts around the world on March 6. 


START-UP WEEK [INTERACT]: March 8 - 13, 2021

A week-long networking event that provides avenues for ideators to pitch their ideas and create a team with interested developers. It is an initiative that seeks to connect “thinkers” and “doers”.


TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS [INNOVATE]: March 15 - 19, 2021

A series of workshops that aims to familiarize the participants with Google technology. It seeks to provide resources that supplement the knowledge the participants currently have.


MENTORSHIP WEEK [EMPOWER]: March 22 - 26, 2021

Teams will be given an opportunity to meet with a DSC mentor to improve and identify problems from their project through feedback and consultations.


Teams can be formed at the beginning or during the challenge itself. Your team should have a max. of 4 members. Participants who registered without a team or with incomplete team members would be teamed up with other participants during the Interact: Start-up Weekend (March 8-13).
