About this event

This talk will be presented by Tom Barnett, of Dragonfly labs:

"It wasn't so long ago that washing up was reserved for humans until the dish washer came along....

Our innovations often lend themselves towards "labour saving" - giving us back time or increasing our capabilities. More recently, the smart phone has transformed our lives by putting previously fictional power in our hands without needing to even get out of bed!

This talk aims to investigate some of the innovations happening today that will turn in to dishwashers and smartphones of the future and give some context around the human use case that they are addressing, even if it is a little hard to see or understand it today.

After all, whoever heard of an Electric Monk?? Or even a handheld device that guided you through the galaxy.

Don't panic - it will be fun."

Dragonfly Labs develop and implement intelligent automated trading algorithms that mitigate risk and maximise investment.

At Dragonfly Labs we apply data insight and tenacious problem solving to create and execute trading algorithms.

Our team has been operating trading algorithms for many years and our collective in-depth understanding of market structures, real world execution and quantitative analysis underpin our approach. Our technology offers an efficient way to trade across the most complex of financial markets. Our proprietary tools are fully customisable and we can address new opportunities at pace.

While some traders adopt a “high risk, high reward” view, at Dragonfly Labs we take our position to risk responsibly, preferring to back investments that deliver long-term gains and present minimal risk - something our insight-driven algorithm puts us in a unique position to do.

While we identify as a quantitative trading company, Dragonfly Labs is primarily a technology developer, specialising in bespoke algorithms that provide solid trading results.
