Our brilliant FAMNIT TAs and HICUP Lab team members Jordan Deja and Nuwan Attygalle will be giving a talk and workshop on practical use cases of Machine Learning. 

Jordan Deja will be giving a high-level talk which introduces us to the various applications of Machine Learning (ML). We will discuss how they can be applied in different industries such as Automobile Logistics, Health and well-being, Music, etc. We will also be introduced to different terms, problems, user scenarios that we'll need in order to deploy our first ML models.

Nuwan Attygalle will be giving a workshop directly afterwards that teaches participants how to write distributed machine learning models that scale in TensorFlow, scale out the training of those models, and offer high-performance predictions. We will learn how to 

- Convert raw data to features in a way that allows ML to learn important characteristics from the data and bring human insight to bear on the problem. 

- Incorporate the right mix of parameters that yields accurate, generalized models and knowledge of the theory to solve specific types of ML problems.

- Experiment with end-to-end ML, starting from building an ML-focused strategy and progressing into model training, optimization, and productionalization with hands-on labs using Keras with Tensorflow backend and colab workbooks.
