(Virtual on ZOOM) This workshop is open to all students and levels and will begin with an intro to APIs followed by a hands-on example with the Cloud Vision API. Participants who attend receive free access to the Google Cloud Skills Boost Platform. Complete the labs to receive free google cloud credits. This event's hands-on labs (From the quest on: Machine Learning APIs): 1. Introduction to APIs in Google This lab will teach you about the architecture and basic functioning of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This will be supplemented with hands-on practice, where you will configure and run Cloud Storage API methods in Cloud Shell. 2. Detect Labels, Faces, and Landmarks in Images with the Cloud Vision API The Cloud Vision API lets you understand the content of an image by encapsulating powerful machine learning models in a simple REST API. In this lab you’ll send an image to the Cloud Vision API and have it identify objects, faces, and landmarks. You'll work through Google Cloud labs to get hands-on experience and when you complete the whole quest, you earn a badge for your LinkedIn! Invite a friend who could benefit, and we'll be happy to help them also get access to qwiklabs.com and to help them get started!
