About this event

In this workshop, John Manning, a Google Developer Expert (GDE) will teach the basics of the Flutter framework.

John is the world's first (and currently the only) healthcare-trained Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Dart/Flutter. He builds apps for healthcare using Flutter, which have been successfully deployed for patients, for clinicians, and for EMTs. He is dual-boarded in Emergency Medicine and Clinical Informatics; practices clinically in the hospital; and educates medical students / residents at the bedside. His Flutter efforts are housed on his YouTube channel (Flutter Juun), GitHub (FireJuun), or his startup’s collaborative blog (MayJuun). Finally, he helped create the FHIR-FLI collaborative, which focuses on the intersection between Flutter and the global standard for healthcare interoperability, FHIR®.

Flutter is a flexible app development framework meant for building native apps for several different frameworks with only one codebase (Android, iOS, web). You will learn about widgets, basic app design, and even follow a demo for a small app.
