Join us for another exciting event on quantum computing! Dive deeper into this cutting-edge technology, learn about the much-anticipated Q-day, and discover strategies for navigating its challenges.
Imagine the moment of the total cybersecurity collapse: when all secrets, from your social media messages, through your bank account, to the government and military secrets, are exposed. This moment, named the 'quantum apocalypse', or the Q-day, refers to the point in time when quantum computers become powerful enough to break current cryptography. The Y2Q, or 'years to quantum', countdown timer is set for 'World Quantum Day' on April 14, 2030, but the Q-day might arrive sooner than expected.
After briefly exploring vulnerabilities of current cryptosystems to quantum computer attacks, and so-called post-quantum cryptography, the talk focuses on the ultimate quantum apocalypse survival tool: quantum cryptography. While quantum computers pose a threat to our digital civilization, they also provide a simple and elegant solution to theoretically absolute security.
