This event is a discussion session focused on the topic of cybersecurity in the space domain. The purpose of the session is to address practical issues related to developing and maintaining a secure cyber environment throughout all stages of the space mission lifecycle. The session will introduce the SPAce DOmain CyberSecurity (SPADOCS) Framework, which provides a comprehensive and systematic model for understanding and addressing critical cybersecurity issues in the space domain. The session will begin by discussing the key objectives of confidentiality, integrity, and availability and how they relate to cybersecurity. Attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the unique challenges posed by cybersecurity in the space domain and learn about practical strategies for addressing these challenges.

Dr. Bruce Chesley is a Senior Associate with Teaching Science and Technology, Inc (TSTI). He develops and delivers technical short courses and workshops to assist government agencies, start-ups, and established companies develop their workforce for the space domain. His current focus areas are satellite design, model-based systems engineering, and cybersecurity for the space domain.

Dr. Bruce Chesley is a Senior Associate with Teaching Science and Technology, Inc (TSTI). He develops and delivers technical short courses and workshops to assist government agencies, start-ups, and established companies develop their workforce for the space domain. His current focus areas are satellite design, model-based systems engineering, and cybersecurity for the space domain.
His professional career began in the US Air Force. He held assignments at Air Force Space Command, the National Reconnaissance Office, and the Department of Astronautics at the USAF Academy. He left the military in 2000 and spent the next 20 years in industry with Boeing Space and Launch. In addition to engineering and technology development roles, he held executive positions in program management, business development, and strategy.
He was elected to the International Academy of Astronautics and served on the Bureau of the International Astronautical Federation, where he remains an active committee member. His doctoral research was recognized with a Best Technical Paper Award from AIAA.
