However, within the break, a lot of students have channeled their energies, time, and resources toward building tech careers, and many have been forthcoming. The resumption of school brings a potential disruption to how they handle their involvement in tech. Now comes the question, How do you strike a balance as a student? This event seeks to guide students on how to strike a balance between academics and tech.
The event features speakers who are reputable in fields related to both tech and education. The first speaker, Engr. Dr. Suleiman Abimbola Yahaya is a Lecturer and the Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, at the University of Ilorin. He is the CEO of Sayz Design, a web design company in Nigeria, a Public Speaker, and a Project Manager.
The Second speaker, Geeky Adams, is a graduating student of computer engineering at the university of Ilorin. Asides from being a first-class student, he is also a senior frontend engineering consultant at Atlan. This proves his ability to balance both academics and tech in the best way possible, qualifying his ability to deliver the best experience to an audience of tech-inclined students who seek a balance in their academics and career life.

Engr Dr Suleiman Abimbola Yahaya is currently the Head of Department (HOD) of the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He is an experienced product developer, public speaker and excellent project manager (waterfall and agile methodologies). He owns Sayz Design where they help small businesses in Nigeria to get befitting websites.
DR SULEIMAN ABIMBOLA YAHAYA received his B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, Nigeria and his M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He bagged his PhD in Biomechanics from the University Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Since he joined the academic, he has created award-winning products such as a blind walking stick that can sense pits and detect obstacles for the blind, he championed optimised 3D printed hip protectors for frail elderly people and developed hospital management software that has since been deployed in five hospitals. Most recently, He is leading a team of developers, students, and researchers to launch a “Solar Powered Mini Clinic for Nigeria”.
Abdulhakeem Adams is a Software Engineer with about 6 years of professional experience building interesting applications across several domains and have had the opportunity of also leading teams, mentoring Junior developers, and building tech communities as well.
