Hey! If you missed this event, the slides are available here: Getting started with VSCode Presentation (includes some intro stuff, C++ setup for 200 level classes, also some extension recommendations from Justin): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1q3HnYEWw5LDCnD0uVsrsryM2ikzxkhK7jg0O4ansYjs/edit?usp=sharing VSCode Useful Shortcuts and Setup (includes some suggested extensions from Angel): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c64FUowMfjja1wwo0xiksAfxMVsRJKgcUgWsAvtld2Q/edit?usp=sharing Small aside: if your professor requires you to use Replit/Codio please do so! This is often for anticheat or logistics. Not all your classes will require you to use a certain editor though, that's where you can use the VSCode setup you've customized to your liking. -- Having a good local environment to code in is important for every programmer. If you've only used Replit or Codio to code or you want a head start to prepare for 200 level classes, then this event is for you! Come learn why Visual Studio Code is a nice choice and how to set it up to your liking! VSCode is a very powerful tool and setting it up exactly how you want it will enable you to have a better programming experience. We'll also be going over how to set up an optimal environment for C++ which should help you for your 200 level classes. We highly recommend bringing your own laptop to this event! You can follow along with us using a cloud version of VSCode for the first half of the event as we explore VSCode, but the second half where we set up your C++ environment will require your own laptop. This is a hybrid event! In-person spots are limited, so make sure to RSVP here to let us know you'll be joining us live in person.
