Do you want to get started in making your first Discord bot?

GDSC University of Birmingham will be hosting a workshop to help you in your journey of making bots, we'll be going from creating the bot account all the way up to implementing features!
This is also part of a two part engagement, as we will be hosting a Botathon the follow day for you to test your skills!

About this event

On Saturday 27th, CSS and GDSC will be running a Discord Bot hackathon!  
To help you prepare, we'll also be running a workshop on Discord bots the evening before, on Friday 26th from 6PM-9PM!

 Bot Workshop 
Get to the CS labs for 6PM for a 6:15PM start, where we'll be going through how to build your own Discord bot features and how discord.py works.
The workshop should last about 90 minutes but we'll be done by 9PM at the latest
If you can't attend in-person at this time, we'll release a pre-recorded video of this after 

 Botathon  
Running from 10AM till 4PM, and in teams of up to 4, create you very own discord bot using the skeleton code provided. 
We'll provide pizza for lunch, and there'll be a special surprise for the winner 
If you can't attend in-person, feel free to do the Botathon yourself and you can message CSS for feedback!
