About this event

Hacktoberfest is an annual month-long event that GDSCs and other tech communities around the world participate in. It encourages open-source contributions by inviting developers to make meaningful contributions to open-source projects on platforms like GitHub.

Participants who complete a certain number of pull requests (usually four) during the month of October receive a limited-edition Hacktoberfest T-shirt as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the open-source community.

This event fosters collaboration, learning, and the spirit of open-source development, making it a valuable experience for students and developers looking to expand their skills and contribute to the wider tech ecosystem.
