Sofia V. Arciniega is an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business. She has been selected to participate in various prestigious programs with companies such as Amazon, BlackRock, Bloomberg, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Helen of Troy, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley, PIMCO, PwC, and Wells Fargo.

She has gained valuable experience through two internships as a Financial Analyst I Intern at Amazon. During her first internship, she collaborated with a team of four colleagues to improve the FAS 5 Contingencies key issue process, including the standardization of how issues are communicated and tracked with the team. She also implemented a tool to use during quarter-end close, SIM TT tracks, monitors, and reports the status of each issue.

In her second internship, she worked with a team of five to manage monthly reporting for the Procurement to Financial Reporting Defects project related to a CFO level goal and was responsible for providing business teams with PO defect information escalation processes. She coordinated with the CapEx FBI team for the compliance and integrity of defect data to identify and categorize errors and provide team management to make decisions toward mitigation.

Additionally, Sofia completed a study abroad program in Lille, France at IESEG School of Management during the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. She is a recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship issued by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for the years 2020 and 2021.

Sofia has held the position of Professional Development Officer for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) from Fall 2019 through Spring 2021. Currently, she serves as the Vice President of the Google Developer Student Club at UTEP. As Vice President, she is responsible for managing event logistics and budgeting, as well as networking to bring professionals to campus. Ms. Arciniega's objective is to increase the representation of women in the tech industry, and she works towards this goal by serving as a mentor and point of contact to motivate and encourage students.

Martin Renova is a professional videographer at the College of Business Administration. In his role as Videographer, he is responsible for filming and editing videos of events hosted by the college and making content for social networks such as COBA's Facebook page and Instagram account.

He has also worked with Modern Miner, where he was in charge of filming and editing videos of events hosted by the Academic Technologies department at UGLC. He collaborated with MSEIP, which is a project designed to increase the number of Hispanics in UTEP. Martin was also involved in filming a video that was used for public education in Washington D.C., where he presented interviews of the engineering faculty.

Martin is currently an officer under the title of Director of Digital Media within Google Developer Student Club at UTEP. As an officer under this title, he is responsible for creating all digital media content associated with GDSC programs, workshops and events.

Molly Reed is a Sophomore at the UTEP College of Engineering majoring in Computer Science. Prior to Computer Science, she was in the Nursing program for 2 years before deciding to pursue her new major in the spring semester of 2023. She is looking forward to starting her journey in Computer Science and feels that it is the right fit for her.

Molly is also part of the exec team of another organization at UTEP called CHAARG, a women’s health and wellness organization. As an event coordinator of CHAARG she is responsible for connecting with local trainers and gyms and planning workouts with them every week.

Molly is currently serving as the Operations Assistant under the Vice President within Google Developer Student Club at UTEP. As the Operations Assistant, she is responsible for helping to handle logistics for meetings and workshops, help other members with any questions they may have, and network with Googlers.
