GDSC's Game Jam is a chance for students to display their coding and creative skills developing a game of their choice. The events runs for 55hrs and can be completed in teams of up to 4. The best games progress to the showcase event where they be put to the test by other students and final winners will be decided for the cash prizes.
Details of the Game Jam
- When and where
- The Jam will begin Friday 30th September @ 10am
- The Jam will conclude Sunday 2nd October @ 5pm
- Conducted online, with a discord to connect all Jam participants together
- What
- Games will be developed in python 🐍
- The topic/theme of the Jam will be dropped at the opening
- Judging will be conducted based on several criteria
- Successful team's games will continue to the Showcase event
- How
- Individual registration is above, then you'll recieve further information for the next steps
- Find some teamates to Jam with on the discord, if not go solo
- Attend the Game Dev Workshops to get yourself up to scratch with the competition
Details of the Showcase event
- When and Where
- The showcase event occurs the Week 9 of university, times TBA
- Located in J12 SIT computer lab
- What
- Finalists will display their games and pitch on lab computers, science fair style 🚀
- Studnets and Jam participants get to play/discuss each others work
- People choices will be voted live
- The winners of each category will be announced
