This is an event series for people who wish to be an Android Developer or for those with a desire to learn something new. With Android Study Jams, you will have the opportunity to learn Kotlin, Kotlin being the most preferred language used to create Android applications.

We are excited to announce that we’ll soon be kicking off the Android Study Jam in our chapter. This is an event series for people who wish to be an Android Developer or for those with a desire to learn something new.

With Android Study Jams, you will have the opportunity to learn Kotlin, Kotlin being the most preferred language used to create Android applications.

There are 2 tracks to choose from based on whatever you’re comfortable with:

Track #1 : Starts from the very basic, for people who have no prior knowledge of programming. But we expect basic logical aptitude.

Track #2 : For students familiar with Object-Oriented Programming, GitHub dealings, and experience in using an IDE.

You may choose either or complete both the tracks and claim your badges and certificate of completion.

Android is an open-source operating system based on Linux with a Java programming interface for mobile devices such as smartphones (Touch Screen Devices which supports Android OS) as well for Tablets too. Android is a powerful open-source operating system which provides a lot of great features, those are-

It’s open-source and we can customize the OS based on our requirements.

It supports connectivity for GSM, CDMA, WIFI, NFC, Bluetooth, etc. for telephony or data transfer. It will allow us to make or receive calls / SMS messages and we can send or retrieve data across mobile networks

By using WIFI technology we can pair with other devices using apps

Android has multiple APIs to support location-based services such as GPS.

Kotlin is a statically typed, general-purpose programming language developed by JetBrains, that has built world-class IDEs like IntelliJ IDEA, PhpStorm, App code, etc. It was first introduced by JetBrains in 2011 and a new language for the JVM. Kotlin is an object-oriented language, and a “better language” than Java, but still be fully interoperable with Java code.
