Minyi's research interests lies in the general area of AI, specifically focuses on preference representation, reasoning, and learning, computational social choice, collective decision-making, and multi-agent systems.
Dr. Yongli Ren is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science and Information Technology, the School of Science, RMIT University. He is an expert in recommender systems, log analysis, user profiling and data mining. He has won the “Alfred Deakin Medal for Doctoral Thesis” in 2013 at Deakin University, and the “best paper award” at the IEEE/ACM ASONAM 2012 Conference. His work has been applied to solve real world problems, including improving the effectiveness of online recommendation, recommending the right product to retail customers, and segmenting customers based on their physical movement and online browsing history. He has rich experience working with industries, e.g. MicroSoft, SEEK, Westfield, Arup, Emprevo.
Phil has been privileged to have had a front row in the amazing growth of the software industry in Australia, which provides an insight and a wealth of practical expertise into building world class development teams, and building leading edge software products that customers enjoy using.
This is because of his love of learning and technology – what it has done for us, and what the future promises.
He has spent much of his career working with small to medium technology start-up companies to help them implement their vision. This has involved developing their tech stack, building effective infrastructure and collaborating teams.
Phil has also had a long relationship with Redcat - a POS and business management solutions provider, first helping them move to the online world more than 20 years ago, and more recently help them re-engineer their product suite to deal with the demands of modern world. He is currently the General Manager of all the development and infrastructure teams within Redcat.
Shahran has 18 years experience in Human Resource operations and strategy - having worked in roles of HR leadership, consulting and executive coaching. He has facilitated development programs for individuals, teams and organisations – in start-up phase, with multi-national offices, and with operations of up to 4,000 people.
He has a passion of identifying and developing Talent, while shaping environments to leverage the collective strengths of its people.
Shahran has been working for Redcat for over a year, is their first 'HR guy' in the company's 28 year history - and looks forward to supporting the company's next growth curve of innovation, market share, and a truly values based work culture.
Katie is the Early Careers Specialist at Mantel Group and looks after all of the recruitment for and running of, the early talent programs.
Kathryn leads the data science practice for Eliiza which is part of Mantel Group house of brands. She has a background in statistics and data science and has worked in pharmacy, financial service, and insurance before moving to the consulting side for the past decade. She has a keen interest in building data science solutions that add value and scale and is especially interesting in the ethical considerations of the machine learning and AI solutions that are created.
Ishini is a global Talent Partner at PaperCut Software and is based in Melbourne. During her career Ishini has partnered with businesses of all sizes from start-ups to global corporations in multiple industries; in most recent years she has settled within the tech sector. Her passion is to bring a human-centric vision to talent attraction and people management centred around diversity, equity and inclusion. Ishini has been recognised for her efforts in identifying unconscious barriers for women within the tech community and has helped business leaders to create collaborative and conscious processes by investigating and promoting accessibility within their practices.
Brian is currently working as the AI Practice Lead in Servian. Brian's core responsibilities include providing clients with enterprise data solution advisory, managing end-to-end data science and MLOps deliveries, and leading the development of AI/ML capabilities within Servian.
Tom Zhao is a Data Engineer at Servian and AI/ML practitioner.
Dr Luis Neumann is a data scientist with demonstrated skills and knowledge in machine learning, time series analysis and data visualisation using a variety of tools such as Python, Matlab, R, SQL, and different cloud technologies. Before working as a consultant, Dr Neumann spent 10 years in academia (The University of Melbourne, CSIRO) doing research in integrated water management, catchment processes and hydrological modelling.
Calham is a Senior MLOps Consultant at Servian. Calham has a background in deep learning across a variety of applications.
Patrick is the organiser of the Melbourne TensorFlow User Group and a core member of the TensorFlow Lite and TensorFlow.JS working groups at Google. He is passionate about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and enjoys building technical communities or educating developers on new technologies. He is currently a Principal Software Engineer at Flybuys, focusing on mobile application development. He is a senior Software engineer with diverse experience across mobile, cloud, and artificial intelligence technologies. He has extensive experience leading development teams and communicating with key stakeholders. He is passionate about building technical communities and educating developers on new technologies.
Personally, a chill and fun-loving person 😊. Professionally, innovation, coding and designing are my strong pillars for software development. Currently an Honours student in Computer Science as well.
Christelle is part of the ANZ Campus Recruitment team at Atlassian and her main areas of focus is Speciality Engineering which include crafts across Security, Site Reliability, Data Platform and IT Workplace Productivity. She is passionate about the Campus World and strives to provide a positive experience to all her candidates. Prior to joining Atlassian, Christelle focused on Experienced HIres and worked across a number of industries including IT, Consulting and Telecommunications.
