About this event

As developers, Git and Github are our bread and butter. Git was invented by Linus Torvalds to manage the Linux project back in 2005. Since then it has been adopted as the most widely used source control application throughout the software industry. Whether it’s creating your first portfolio or posting hacked source code online anonymously, Github is your friend! Github manages source code using Git.

Attend our workshop and learn how to navigate the Github website, create repositories, clone repositories and manage them remotely and locally through Git using the command line and get a peek into Linux command line.

Requirements:

  • Github account
  • That’s all!

What are we going to cover:

  • Git installation
  • Basic Git commands
  • Github walkthrough
  • Repository management
  • Branches, commits, merges, pull requests
  • Synchronizing local and remote repositories using Git
  • Make your first commit of a sample project!
