About this event

We are pleased to announce LSE's and ETH Zurich's GDSC collaboration event! In this talk, Emre Surmeli, Technical Educator at Web3 Foundation, will give an introduction to blockchain and its applications to Web 3.0 and Polkadot. We will dive into the history of the web and its evolution to where we are now, what the Web3 Foundation's vision is, and how decentralized protocols and Polkadot fit into that future.

Polkadot is a sharded protocol that enables blockchain networks to operate together seamlessly. The technology will enable a completely decentralized web where users are in control. Polkadot is a flagship project by the Web3 Foundation, a Swiss Foundation founded to facilitate a fully functional and user-friendly decentralized web. It is built to connect private and consortium blockchains, public and permissionless networks, oracles, and future technologies that are yet to be created!
