Build your first Android apps with the Kotlin programming language. Add images and text to your Android apps, and learn how to use classes, objects, and conditionals to create an interactive app for your users. You will upload the application on github once you are done.

About this event

This lab will introduce you to Kotlin Language, the official language for developing Android applications.

What you will learn:

  • You will learn the basics of Kotlin, a modern programming language that allows you to express your ideas in a concise way.
  • Learn to create Android apps using Android Studio in this introductory pathway.
  • Learn how to add images and text to your Android apps.
  • Learn how to use classes, objects, and conditionals to create an interactive app for your users.
  • Integrate github with projects in android studio


Prerequisites:

This being a hands-on lab, you will be required to have android studio installed on your compute system,

You will also need to set up an emulator, or an android device with a usb to preview your app as you build it.

Optionally, you will need a github account to post your project online.
