A talk by Noman Bashir on his academic journey at various institutions in Pakistan and the US. He would be highlighting his research work at Sustainable Computing Lab, UMass Amherst. He also works as a Student Researcher at Google.

About this event

Noman Bashir is a 5th-year Ph.D. student at the University of Massachusetts working with Prof. David Irwin. His research focuses on improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of cloud/edge computing and energy systems. His work has been published at top systems conferences and journals such as EuroSys, Supercomputing, BuildSys, COMPASS, e-Energy, and TOSN. In addition to his academic engagements, he has worked as a Student Researcher at Google on the Borg team, which manages Google’s globe-spanning datacenters.
