About this event

Welcome to codeXcaliber, where innovation meets collaboration in the world of coding! Are you ready to unleash your creativity and technical skills? This event, hosted by GDSC (Google Developer Student Clubs), invites students to pitch their coding ideas.

Here's how it works:

Phase 1: Idea Pitching

Students pitch their coding project ideas to a panel of judges, outlining their vision, feasibility, and potential impact. The most promising and innovative ideas will be selected, with the top 5 ideas advancing to the next phase.

Phase 2: Open Source Development

The selected projects will have their basic code uploaded to GitHub, where they will be made open source for students worldwide to contribute to. This phase encourages collaboration and creativity, allowing participants to build upon the initial concepts and create something truly remarkable together. Participants who pitched the ideas will have the opportunity to engage with the developers working on the project, facilitating feedback and suggestions to align the project with the original vision. Separate groups for both coders and pitchers will be established to streamline communication and maximize collaboration efficiency.

Phase 3: Contribution Recognition

Each week, the top 3 students who have made significant contributions to the GitHub repositories will be announced and celebrated on GDSC's social media handles. These contributions can range from quantity to effectiveness, showcasing the dedication and impact of the participants.

In the spirit of fostering innovation, should any of the projects evolve into a successful startup, both the pitchers and coders will receive due credit for their contributions, recognizing their essential roles in the project's journey from concept to potential venture.
