Many great projects are built by communities. Properly keeping track of changes made to code, has in the past being a real problem. And this was of course on projects built by individuals and teams/communities. This is the problem version control solve
Version Control Systems do not only help in monitoring changes and code version history, but they also help in making collaborations on the same project possible. Git is the most popular version control software and GitHub is one of the many cloud-hosted Git services, that further promote code collaboration with the help of forks and pull requests.
During this event, Auwal, Program Manager for Developer Student Clubs, Sub Saharan Africa, will explain version control with a simple follow along practical on how to collaborate on GitHub.
