Women faced more obstacles on their way to professional growth, be it the struggle in juggling career and motherhood, or simply not being accepted in a male-dominated environment. In this event series STEM women who have successfully achieved something exceptional in their lives are invited to talk about a chosen topic in their fields of specialty or about the challenges they experienced during their career path. This gives the younger audience the chance to be inspired by female role models. As our first guest speaker, we invited Tendü Yoğurtçu, Ph.D., the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Precisely. Precisely is the global leader in data integrity software, providing accuracy, consistency, and context in data for 12,000 customers in more than 100 countries, including 97 percent of the Fortune 100. Tendü is a dedicated advocate for STEM education for women and diversity. She is co-founder and co-chair for the Precisely Women in Technology program. She was recognized as CTO of the Year at the prestigious 2019 Women in IT Awards and as an Outstanding Executive in Technology for 2018 by Advancing Women in Technology (AWT). On this event, Tendü is going to talk about data trends and their opportunities and challenges, with a focus on Big Data, Cloud, and AI/ML use cases. The event series "Voices of STEM Women" is held together in collaboration with four women STEM associations, namely LIMES, CSNOW, Phimale and Women Techmakers Switzerland. Furthermore, GDSC Turkey is also joining us for this event.
