Modern web applications expect highly-performant, robust and scalable REST APIs that can be built in minimal time.
For this talk, we invited Ashmi Banerjee, a full-time data scientist at Deutsche Telekom and a self-taught (hobby) web developer. Ashmi will introduce the Python-based web-framework FastAPI and how it meets these requirements. You will learn about the features and benefits that FastAPI provides and how they can be used to efficiently build and test API endpoints. In addition, the talk will explore how to serve a Machine Learning model via FastAPI and highlight some useful, pragmatic advice for deploying real-world applications.
This event is intended for programmers, web developers, data scientists and anyone else who is interested in software development.
The event series "Voices of STEM Women" is held in collaboration with four STEM women associations, namely LIMES, CSNOW, Phimale and Women Techmakers Switzerland. The aim of these events is to give the younger audience the chance to be inspired by female role models.
