This semester, we are back with our second edition of the GDSC x Optiver Hackathon. We will keep the same winning format we used last year but this time we will focus on Data Science!

The world of algorithmic trading constantly tests the brightest minds by putting their code under the pressure of financial markets. At Optiver, our teams tackle this complex challenge on a daily basis.

To give ETH students a glimpse into the fascinating coding problems presented by algorithmic trading at scale, the Google Developer Student Club is hosting a Coding Challenge by Optiver. Using your team’s knowledge of Python, you’ll try to predict the future volatility of a stock on a virtual exchange by analyzing a dataset using Optiver's simulated exchange: Optibook.

You can form teams of 2-3 people with your friends on the day of the competition, but you can also come on your own and we'll match you up with other competitors.
