About this event

We are pleased to announce ETH Zurich's and TUM's GDSC collaboration on this event!

The concept of Progressive Web Apps (PWA) was introduced in 2016 and it changed the world of frontend development forever. Websites could be “installed” to devices and, better yet, they could be available offline! Back in 2016, the groundwork was there but, as with everything else on the web, it was to be a slow process of incremental improvements. Now, five years down the line, things are different. PWAs are truly installable, reliable, and capable.

In this talk, Ire Aderinokun, Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies, will present how PWAs have developed over the years and just how capable they’ve become. We’ll have hands-on demonstrations of the top web capabilities and showcase what we can do on the web today!

Note: this is a beginner-mid-level PWA talk, no prior knowledge is required.
