Welcome to the foundry era of synthetic biology. Ginkgo Bioworks is a cell programming company with the mission to make biology easier to engineer. Like an operating system or a web services provider, Ginkgo is a horizontal platform that our partners use to create biological applications. But biology is not like tech. Developing for biology requires a unique mindset and toolset. Jake will describe the current state of the art for engineering biology and what it means for the next generation of biology entrepreneurs.
