SLoP is a nationwide event for students who are enthusiastic about coding and want to contribute to awesome open-source projects. Even the students interested in starting out for open source development can participate in this event. It’s modeled to be a similar but smaller Google Summer of Code (GSoC), a global program that matches students up with open source, free software, and technology-related organizations to write code and get paid for it. SLoP is aimed at introducing new students in this area and helping them brush up on their skills and gain confidence.
