About this event

Join us for our Flutter Study Jam 1: Introduction to Flutter! We’ll hear about Flutter, how it works, and what makes it so amazing. Then, we'll work through a Flutter CodeLab prepared by Google instructors.

Today we will build:

  • A Flutter app that looks natural on iOS, Android, and the web
  • The basic structure of a Flutter app

We will be using:

  • Packages to extend functionality
  • Hot reload for a quicker development cycle
  • Stateful widgets
  • An infinite, lazily loaded list

To participate you will need:

  • Flutter installation
  • VSCode installation
  • Some experience with programming (if inexperienced, don’t worry! Come to the Study Jam, and ask for one-on-one help! Make sure to also check out the articles below)
  • To get live help we recommend installing the LiveShare Extension pack for VSCode

If you have any problems setting it up, come to the Study Jam for help!
