PLUGGED IN: Hack and Code the Global Goals is a 3-day hackathon from May 24-26, 2023 that aims to encourage and immerse tech-savvy students of Bicol University to solve important issues and contribute to the sustainable development goals through technological innovation.

About this event

The event aims to encourage and immerse tech-savvy students in solving global issues and contributing to the sustainable development goals by creating technological innovations. The hackathon is open to participants from all backgrounds. Participants will work on solutions to tackle challenges related to the SDGs. The solutions could be in the form of concepts, apps, ideas, products, or platforms, as long as they contribute to the chosen challenge matching the SDG. The hackathon will follow a human-centered design methodology, and on the third day, each team will pitch their final ideas and solutions via a live presentation. The success of the project will be measured by the number of participating students who gained new knowledge or skills in technology and sustainability-related fields, collaborations formed among participants, level of engagement and feedback during the event, and the impact and solution that can be catered in the community.
