Malar Arulraj is a postdoctoral associate with the Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Science (CISESS) affiliated with the University of Maryland and the National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service, National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Her research interests include precipitation remote sensing, radar meteorology, hydrology, and artificial intelligence. She was awarded a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University in 2019, and she was a recipient of the NASA Earth Science System Fellowship (NESSF). Prior to her Ph.D., she earned her master's degree in Climate Science from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2014 and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, in 2012.
