Welcome to the Two-day Git and GitHub workshop! Do you have a mess of disorganized files on your laptop? Have you ever been working on a paper at midnight, your computer crashed and you lose all your work? Are you a programmer who has played around with Git a bit but feel not too confident about your understanding of the basics? Or, do you think it might be cool to keep an online dream journal where you can track the changes that you've made every night for the past year? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this event is for you!
In this event, we will teach the basics of git. We expect no prior knowledge of Git, and while we recommend that you come with a Github account (https://github.com/) and Git (https://git-scm.com/downloads) installed on your computer, you are not required to have an account or have git installed, and we will walk you through the steps of these processes.
We will teach you the basics of git by laying down the groundwork of some of the ideas behind Git, but we won't get too bogged down in the details. We'll jump right into a live demo, and,
by the end of the event, you will have:
- created a Git repository on your own computer,
- created a Git repository on your GitHub account in the cloud,
- and have the two linked together so that you can make sync changes between them!
NOTE: This session will conversed in " தமிழ் "
