This event aims to create awareness about Open Source and its platforms. Google Summer of Code is a global, online mentoring program focused on introducing new contributors to open source. During Google Summer of Code, participating contributors are paired with mentors from open-source organizations, gaining exposure to real-world software development techniques.
The guest speaker of the event, Arpit Vaghela, will answer questions like ‘Why contribute to Open Source?’ and ‘How to participate in GSoC?’. The speaker will provide insights into the process of applying to an organization and will give tips for the same. Post-session, there will be a Q&A round where participants can put forward their doubts. This event will provide a kickstart to many beginner programmers to start Open Start Development.
